To open a door and looking inside an unknown room is always a dark thriller. But looking at a door inviting you to step trough a mysterious opening into the darkness of Rene Magritte’s “Unexpected Answer” painting will make your body shiver with excitement and fear in apprehension of some future adventure.
Coraline went through the door.
Well everyone has his own doors to open with delight or with fear. Artist are a subspecies whose open doors may evoke dreadful pictures like Goya’s Disasters of War etchings, see here, or Matisse’s painting Luxe, Calme, et Volupté, see here.
